If you overthink,

Your writing will never be

Known. Just dive in now

For me, writing started in my journal 23 years ago. I used it to heal from a traumatic divorce from my first husband.

I am very passionate about writing. I believe the years spent in my private journal are worth unlocking to share with others. After my breast cancer, I felt a calling to share my heart and experiences. My goal is to inspire others along this life journey and hopefully beyond.

I set a 9–5 schedule for writing, but I’m very flexible. I am a caretaker for my mom and grandson. I also stay busy loving my husband, sixteen-year-old son, cat, and dog (mom’s). Oh, and my daughter, who I lend an ear, heart, and a hand often!

With this said, I often wake up in the middle of the night and crank out a piece or two. Sometimes I wake up super early and write in bed. Other times, I often fall asleep writing. Obsession or love? I frequently ask myself this question.

You must dive in when the inspiration strikes or your ideas will get lost in the abyss. I felt a challenge by Thief yesterday to create a poem about my times for writing.

I’m a writer who has journaled for 26 years. My battle with breast cancer has given me a new perspective on life. Writing is a way for me to give back.
