My Story of Brave

“When you’re brave, you empower others around you to be brave too.”

— Anonymous

Early on in my breast cancer journey, I embraced the word BRAVE. Wearing the hat of a cancer patient requires a lot of moments of bravery. I even came across a song called Brave that was very encouraging to me. It always gave me strength when I was feeling very weak.

Bravery for all of us is not something that just happens. We really need to decide to be brave. It’s a choice to be either strong or weak. As humans, we really are braver than we give ourselves credit for. I am glad for all the brave people in my life who encouraged me to be braver; their support has been beyond amazing.

Sometimes we just need to fake it until we make it. Sometimes we just need to do those things that make us feel uncomfortable. There isn’t anything that we cannot do. But sometimes it’s more about who can help us?

When we allow others to help us, in return they are also braver for it. This is how we encourage those around us to be who they were…
